When Paintless Dent Removal Works and When It Doesn't
PDR works on dents where the paint hasn't cracked, the metal hasn't been creased or stretched, and there's access to the back of the panel (either through an opening or by removing a trim piece). It works well on round, smooth dents from door dings, hail, and minor parking bumps. It doesn't work on sharp creases, dents on panel edges, dents where the paint has chipped, or areas with no rear access (like some double-skinned panels). The advantage of PDR is that it's faster, cheaper, and preserves the original paint, which is better for resale value than a respray. When PDR isn't an option, we move to conventional repair with the same quality standard.
How to Tell If It Needs Paint or Just a Polish
Run your fingernail across the scratch. If your nail doesn't catch, the scratch is in the clear coat only and can usually be polished out with a machine buffer. If your nail catches slightly, the scratch has gone through the clear coat into the colour layer and needs touch-up paint or a spot respray. If you can see white primer or grey metal in the scratch, it's gone through all layers and needs filling, priming, and a proper colour-matched respray. The deeper the scratch, the more urgent the repair, because exposed primer and bare metal start corroding quickly in Dubai's humid, salty air.
Why Small Damage Gets Expensive If You Wait
A stone chip the size of a pinhead costs almost nothing to touch up when it's fresh. Left untreated in Dubai's climate, the UV exposure breaks down the exposed edges, sand abrasion widens the chip, and moisture starts corroding the bare metal underneath. Within six months to a year, that pinhead chip can spread into a bubble of peeling paint the size of a coin, which now needs a proper fill, prime, and respray instead of a five-minute touch-up. The same applies to scratches: a clear coat scratch that could be polished out today becomes a paint-deep scratch once the UV finishes the job. Early repair is always cheaper.

We look at every dent and scratch under proper lighting to determine the depth, size, and whether the paint has been compromised. This tells us which repair method to use – paintless removal for clean dents, buffing for surface scratches, or conventional fill-and-paint for deeper damage. Repair the Surface
For paintless dent removal, we access the back of the panel and carefully push the dent out using specialised tools, restoring the panel to its original shape without disturbing the paint. For scratches and dents that need paint, we fill and smooth the area, sand it level, apply primer, then spray colour-matched paint and clear coat. For light clear coat scratches, a machine polish is often enough to remove them completely.
Blend, Polish, and Inspect
After any painted repair, we blend the new paint into the surrounding area so there's no visible edge or colour difference. The repaired area is polished to match the gloss of the original finish. We inspect under different lighting angles to confirm the repair is invisible before handing the car back.
