Fog lights aren't just for fog — used correctly, they're one of the more useful lights on your car in the UAE.
Fog lights sit low on the bumper and are angled wide and flat, unlike headlights which point ahead and slightly up. That shape matters: they cut under fog, dust, and heavy rain instead of reflecting straight back into your eyes the way high beams do.
When to Actually Use Them
- During Dubai's seasonal fog, most common in winter mornings
- In sandstorms or heavy dust haze, where visibility drops fast
- In heavy rain where headlights alone create glare off the wet road
- Never as a substitute for headlights in normal night driving — they're a supplement, not a replacement
Common Problems
Cracked lenses from stone chips, moisture fogging inside the housing, and blown bulbs are the most frequent issues we see. A fogged-up housing with no crack usually just needs the seal checked rather than a full replacement.
If your fog lights aren't working or the housing has gone cloudy, our electrical team can diagnose it quickly and replace just the part that's actually faulty.
