Clutch Repair & Replacement In Dubai
A Worn Clutch Doesn't Get Better on Its Own
The clutch is the connection between your engine and your gearbox. When it starts to slip, judder, or drag, every gear change suffers. Most clutch problems develop gradually, so drivers get used to the higher biting point, the slight smell after a hill start, or the extra pedal pressure before they realize it's a real problem. At Sunshine Auto in Al Qusais, we inspect, repair, and replace clutches for manual transmission vehicles across all major makes. We tell you what's actually worn and whether you need a repair or a full replacement before any work begins.

What Dubai Drivers Should Know
Clutch Facts That Matter in This Climate
How Long Does a Clutch Last in Dubai?
A well-driven clutch in moderate conditions can last 100,000 km or more. In Dubai, the combination of heavy traffic, frequent stop-and-go driving, and summer heat reduces that to 60,000 to 90,000 km for most drivers. Driving habits make the biggest difference: riding the clutch in traffic, holding the car on inclines with the clutch instead of the brake, and aggressive launches all accelerate disc wear. If your biting point has gradually moved higher over the past few months, the clutch is telling you it's wearing down.
What a Dual-Mass Flywheel Is and Why It Costs More
Many modern cars, especially European models, use a dual-mass flywheel (DMF) instead of a solid one. A DMF absorbs engine vibration and makes gear changes smoother, but it's a wear item with a limited lifespan. When it fails, you feel a rattle at idle, excessive vibration through the pedal, and rough gear changes. Replacing a DMF adds to the cost of a clutch job because the part itself is more expensive and it can only be replaced when the gearbox is already out. We always check the DMF during any clutch replacement and give you an honest assessment of whether it needs replacing now or has life left.

Tell Us What Your Clutch Is Doing, We'll Tell You What It Needs
Send us your car's make, model, year, and a description of the issue. Slipping, juddering, noise, high biting point, anything. We'll reply with what to expect and an estimated timeline.
How We Perform The Service
Road Test and Assessment
We drive the car or have a detailed conversation about the symptoms. Biting point, slip under load, noise, pedal feel, all of it helps narrow down whether the issue is the clutch disc, pressure plate, release bearing, flywheel, or hydraulics.
Gearbox Removal and Inspection
The gearbox comes out to access the clutch assembly. We inspect the disc for wear and contamination, check the pressure plate for hot spots and finger wear, test the release bearing for noise and play, and examine the flywheel surface for scoring, heat marks, and runout.
Parts and Replacement
We replace the worn components. In most cases, we recommend replacing the disc, pressure plate, and release bearing together as a kit, because the labour cost to access them is the same and a partially new clutch is a short-term solution. If the flywheel is scored or has exceeded its machining limit, we replace that too.
Reassembly and Road Test
The gearbox goes back in, the clutch is adjusted and bled if hydraulic, and we road test across multiple conditions: standing starts, incline holds, gear changes at different loads, and highway acceleration. The car doesn't leave until the clutch feels right.

Built Around Getting It Right
We Replace as a Kit, Not Piecemeal
Replacing just the clutch disc and leaving the original pressure plate and bearing is a common shortcut. It saves on parts cost but often leads to another failure within months. We fit complete clutch kits and replace related components that are worn, so you don't pay for the same labour twice.
Flywheel Diagnosis, Not Guesswork
A worn or cracked flywheel causes judder that no new clutch disc can fix. We measure the flywheel surface, check for heat damage, and test dual-mass flywheels for play and noise. If it can be resurfaced, we resurface it. If it needs replacing, we tell you upfront.
Every Make, Standard to Performance
We handle clutch replacements on everyday cars like Toyota Hiluxes and Nissan Patrols through to European performance vehicles. The process, tools, and parts differ significantly between makes, and we stock or source clutch kits for all common models in the UAE.
