A 15-minute check before a road trip catches most of what leads to a roadside breakdown.
1. Tyres and Spare
Check tread depth and pressure on all four tyres, including the spare — a flat spare is one of the most common reasons a simple puncture turns into a long delay.
2. Fluids and Battery
Check engine oil, coolant, and washer fluid levels, and have the battery load-tested if it's more than three years old. A battery that's been fine around town can still fail under sustained highway driving in extreme heat.
3. Brakes and Lights
Confirm brake pads have healthy life left and all lights — headlights, brake lights, indicators — are working. These are the checks most likely to prevent an incident, not just a breakdown.
We offer a quick pre-trip inspection covering all of the above, usually done within the hour, so you can leave with an actual answer instead of an assumption.
