A flat battery is one of the most common breakdown causes in Dubai. Here's what to do, and how to avoid a repeat.
Heat is harder on batteries than cold, which surprises a lot of people — Dubai's summers shorten battery lifespan noticeably compared to milder climates, so failures cluster in the hottest months.
If It Happens to You
- Check for obvious causes first — lights or accessories left on overnight
- A jump-start can get you moving, but treat it as a temporary fix, not a diagnosis
- If the car struggles to hold charge again within days, the battery itself likely needs replacing, not just a jump
- Avoid repeated jump-starts over several days — it strains the alternator too
Reducing the Chance It Happens Again
Have the battery load-tested once it's past the two-year mark, especially before summer. A battery that tests weak in April will very likely fail outright by August.
We stock batteries for most makes and can usually replace one on the spot, whether you come to us or we come to you.
